TouchSource integrates antimicrobial films for touchscreen digital signage, kiosks

TouchSource, a digital signage provider, has introduced its Protect antimicrobial film for its digital directories, digital signage and kiosk touchscreens to block germs. This film can also protect displays from smudges, dirt and sun glare, according to a press release.

The film uses a silver nanoparticle coating bonded to a low-residue adhesive to prevent bacteria colonization and in turn reduces contamination from common pathogens by at least 99.99% within 24 hours. The solution is also only 120-microns thick to ensure maximum interactivity.

TouchSource will also offer an on-screen design component to let visitors know about the antimicrobial feature, according to the release.
